Community Service Order Program (CSO)
June 21, 2025 - As a probation order or as a conditional sentence, judges may order individuals to perform a specified number of hours of volunteer work in the community, at charitable organizations. JHSWW oversees the completion of these community work orders by setting up work placements, providing support to participating community agencies, and by verifying that the work order has been completed satisfactorily. JHSWW provides this program in both Kitchener and Cambridge. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Extrajudicial Measures and Sanctions (EJM/EJS)
June 21, 2025 - This program provides an opportunity for youth who have committed minor offences to take responsibility for their actions and make amends to the community. Some youth are required to meet with a community panel to develop a contract that may include such things as restitution, letters of apology, essays, attending special programs and performing volunteer work. Others are referred directly to one or more educational workshops on: Preventing Property Crimes, Understanding Anger, Get Connected, and Drug and Alcohol Awareness. Attendance Centre Program
June 21, 2025 - This program is intended for 12 to 17 year old youth as an alternative to a term of custody. The program focuses on the development of cognitive skills that reinforce positive values and promote responsible behaviour. Youth develop stronger problem solving skills and learn to apply critical reasoning and consequential thinking in their everyday lives. A variety of components are available for the youth to attend. These may include Smart Choices, Substance Awareness, Employment Readiness, Life Management Skills and Surviving School (Study Skills). June 21, 2025 - The Bail Verification and Supervision Program (BVSP) is an alternative to incarceration for those awaiting a court disposition. Individuals over the age of 16 who are in custody, awaiting a bail review, and who do not have a surety may qualify for the BVSP. Individuals released to this program will be required to attend the Windsor Main Office or Chatham satellite locations for mandatory supervision appointments and case management.
