Bail Verification and Supervision Program (BVSP)
June 21, 2025 - The Bail Verification and Supervision Program serves men and women aged 16 years or older who are accused of criminal offences and who are not deemed to be a threat to the community that qualify for bail, but do not have the finances or social ties to meet bail conditions. The Bail Program serves two principles upon which our democratic Justice system is based: the presumption of innocence before conviction and the fair equitable treatment of all people regardless of social and economic background.

Remote Community Intervention Program
June 21, 2025 - The Remote Aboriginal Intervention Program works in partnership with First Nation Communities to assist youth in conflict with the law. The program is currently delivered in Eabemetoong, Weagamow, Webequie and Long Lake #58 First Nation.
Each community has a Remote Community Intervention Worker (RCIW) that works closely with youth to support them through their completion of court ordered sanctions. Restorative Justice & Conflict Resolution
June 21, 2025 - The Youth Restorative Justice & Conflict Resolution program, also known as On-Track, is currently offered at Geraldton Composite High School (Geraldton) and Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute (Thunder Bay). This program aims to resolve in-school conflicts through peer mediation, while supporting students experiencing mental health issues. It encourages youth to be accountable for their behavior while encouraging pro-social outcomes.
The On-Track Program offers support for mental health and addiction concerns, and teaches problem solving/conflict resolution skills. Youth attending the high schools are trained as Peer Mediators and assist in finding a resolution to problems and conflicts that arise between students.…Read More
DAP (Direct Accountability Program)
June 21, 2025 - This program provides adults charged with mostly minor first time criminal offence(s) with an alternative to the formal court process. Individuals charged are still held accountable for their actions by completing community based sanctions. Upon successfully satisfying the program, through the options of charitable donations, volunteer community work, participating in workshops or programs, the charge(s) against the individual are withdrawn by the court.
