Ontario Works – Kitchen Prep

Youth Job Link
June 21, 2025 - Youth Job link (YJL) is designed to help youth, including students, aged 15 to 29, who do not face significant barriers to employment but could benefit from some extra help to plan their careers and transition to the labour market. YJL has been integrated into the Resource and Information component of the Employment Service, but features expanded, youth-focused offerings including career exploration and career management workshops as well as job search, readiness and matching assistance. Recipe for Success/Wendy’s
June 21, 2025 - This is a paid Employability Skills program through Work Placement for individuals between the ages of 15 – 30, not attending school, and not collecting employment insurance and are having a difficult time securing employment for various reasons. The program runs for 16 weeks. Youth will have 3 weeks of in class pre-employment sessions and 13 weeks in job placements at Wendy’s restaurants across the Niagara Region. Reducing Incidences of Suspension and Expulsions (R.I.S.E.)
June 21, 2025 - The program provides educational structure and supervision to you that are suspended or expelled from District School Board of Niagara schools, ensuring that they have the opportunity to continue their education. Students suspended for six or more days are eligible to enter the R.l.S.E. program which includes continuing to receive homework packages and the completion of an Action Plan to ensure success. Work Boot Program
June 21, 2025 - This program assists anyone in the community seeking employment and who is in need of work boots. These boots, provided at the St. Catharines’ office only, are used (steel-toed) and donated by the local General Motors plants. Individuals are often referred by local employment agencies as well as from other JHS programs. The main goal of the program is to eliminate one of the barriers to securing employment by providing proper footwear for the job.
