Student Placement

John Howard Society of York Region provides qualifying students a meaningful learning experience on the job. Through hands-on work, we provide mentoring and opportunities that give students practical experience to broaden and/or deepen their learning experience. Students will be able to work with clients and write reports and/or case notes.

The ideal student candidate will be currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program and will bring a solution focused approach to work.

If you are a student in one of the above fields that requires a placement, we encourage you to complete the appropriate form from the selection below:

Summer Term

Summer term placement period: June–September. Only open to students who are available for a full-time placement i.e. able to work 5 days a week.

Application period: January to March

Fall term placement period: September–December

Or

Full year placement period: full-time placements start in September and run until August of the following year
