Student Placement

NOTICE:

Thank you for considering John Howard Society of York Region.

We are currently only accepting applications for January 2026 and onwards. 

John Howard Society of York Region provides qualifying students a meaningful learning experience on the job. Through hands-on work, we provide mentoring and opportunities that give students practical experience to broaden and/or deepen their learning experience. Students will be able to work with clients and write reports and/or case notes. 

We accept students three times a year: 

• In the fall, (Sept-Dec), or full year placements beginning in September  

• In the winter, (Jan-April)  

• In the spring, (May-August)  

The ideal student candidate will be currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program and will bring a solution focused approach to work.  

If you are a student in one of the following fields that requires a placement or if you are representing a college or university looking for student placement, we encourage you to complete our Student Placement Form
