June 21, 2025 - This is a free service, provided by JHS to all members of the community requiring assistance to complete a record suspension application. Offered at the main JHS office site, clients meet with a JHS worker, who assists them with the application process and ensure that all conditions are met before the application itself is submitted to avoid problems and delays. Fees are not charged for this service, but clients are required to pay the fees associated with the application (e.g. police check). June 21, 2025 - Caring Dads is a 17 week intervention program for fathers (including biological, step, common-law) who have physically abused, emotionally abused or neglected their children, or exposed their children to domestic violence or who are deemed to be at high-risk for these behaviours. The group component of Caring Dads combines elements of parenting, fathering, issues of abuse and child protection practice to enhance the safety and well-being of children. June 21, 2025 - This 12 week group program serves men and women who have been charged with domestic violence and assault. Each weekly session is two hours in length. Referrals are only accepted from the courts and probation. PAR is a psycho-educational program using various theories based on power, control and equality and assists participants to develop strategies for achieving healthy relationships. Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale ($120 to $360 for 12 weeks). The program is offered remotely and on-site.
