Maple Keys – Section 23 Classroom
September 17, 2025 - The Maple Keys classroom provides a unique alternative learning environment for youth who have been suspended or expelled, are on probation, have current involvement with the Criminal Justice System, or who are otherwise high-risk to themselves and others. Youth are supported as they work on earning high school credits, with the goal of graduation. When appropriate, youth are assisted in preparing to return to mainstream school. School-Based Crime Prevention Programs
June 21, 2025 - Communicating Our Perspectives and Emotions Successfully (COPES) is a school-based program for students who have displayed impulsive and aggressive behaviour within the classroom and as a result, have difficulty interacting appropriately within a school setting. Working in small groups over a period of 8 to 10 weeks, the program attempts to assist these students to develop coping skills to better handle stress and to increase their awareness of the causes and consequences of their behaviour.
