John Howard Society of Durham Region

Media Information

For Media Professionals:

The John Howard Society of Durham Region is a registered charity with over 50 years of service to the Durham community. While our branch began as a service exclusively for local male inmates in the 1960’s, today we serve anyone; men and women, youth and adults, individuals and families in a wide range of areas such as Counselling, Employment, Housing and more. Most of our services are free, and our funding for our programs comes from a mixture of all levels of government, United Way, and private donations.

We’re always happy to answer your questions on topics of concern to Durham residents.

Contact our main office at 905-579-8482 to ask for Executive Director dianna.eastwood@jhsd.ca

You may wish to contact the JHS Ontario if your questions relate to a subject that speaks to a Provincial-wide issue.
