Services

Community Re-integration Services

Re-Integration Services works with both men and women leaving correctional centres and helps them to get re-established in the community.

 

Rehabilitative Residential Services

The JHS rehabilitative residence offers units for nine women and 38 men. Our treatment program helps individuals who have come into contact with the law make meaningful life change.

 

Record Suspension Program

The Record Suspension Program assists people with the process of applying for a Record Suspension (formerly known as a pardon).

 

Direct Accountability Program

The Direct Accountability Program is an alternative to prosecution for adults 18 years and older who have been charged with minor criminal offences.

 

Community Service Order Program

The Community Service Order Program (CSO) is a community based sentencing alternative that allows individuals to make a positive contribution to the community by performing volunteer community work at a non-profit organization.

 

Bail Verification and Supervision Program

The Bail Verification and Supervision Program (BVSP) serves men and women aged 16 and older who have been accused of criminal offences and who are not deemed to be safely releasable to the community. These individuals qualify for bail, but do not have the finances or social ties to meet bail conditions.  Through the BVSP,  have access to enhanced supports such as

 

Remote Community Intervention Program

The Remote Community Intervention Program works in partnership with First Nation Communities to assist Aboriginal youth in conflict with the law and their families.

 

Restorative Justice & Conflict Resolution

On-Track, a youth restorative justice & conflict resolution program, is offered at Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute.

The Indigenous Student Support Program works with First Nation youth at the Geraldton Composite High School in Geraldton, Ontario.

 

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is a program created by the Mental Health Commission of Canada to improve mental health literacy and teach people how to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.
