September 17, 2025 - An Extrajudicial Measure (EJM) is a referral from either the Peterborough Police Services (PPS), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), or First Nations Police Services. Instead of pressing charges, a police officer may offer a young person, aged 12-17, an opportunity to participate in the EJM Program at JHS of the Kawarthas. We work with youth ages 12-17 who have been charged with a criminal offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (2002).
