Active Parenting
June 21, 2025 - Provides two different group sessions, one for parents with children aged 5-12, and the other for parents of teens. Sessions are ongoing and run from September to June each year. Each group session is eight weeks long and runs for 2.5 hours. Parents in this program have the opportunity to enhance their parenting skills and learn best practices for establishing effective communication skills, while helping to teach self-reliance and responsibility to their children. Dads Aiming for Direction and Support (D.A.D.S.)
June 21, 2025 - A 25 hour facilitated, educational and peer supported program for dads experiencing separation or divorce to expand their support network, strengthen relationships with their children, and develop healthy interpersonal, parenting and co-operative parenting skills. Clients talk to our program support staff for pre-screening followed by an appointment with a counselor for assessment and goal setting. Clients are referred by various community services such as: lawyers, courts, probation, employers, child protection workers, medical and social service workers, mental health workers, self, family or friends.
