September 17, 2025 - An Extrajudicial Measure (EJM) is a referral from either the Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), or First Nations Police Services. Instead of pressing charges, a police officer may offer a young person, aged 12-17, an opportunity to participate in the EJM Program at the John Howard Society of the Kawarthas. June 21, 2025 - The Bail Verification and Supervision Program (BVSP) is an alternative to incarceration for those awaiting a court disposition. Individuals over the age of 16 who are in custody, awaiting a bail review, and who do not have a surety may qualify for the BVSP. Individuals released to this program will be required to attend the Windsor Main Office or Chatham satellite locations for mandatory supervision appointments and case management. This program is funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General.
