Youth Diversion (Peterborough)
September 17, 2025 - An Extrajudicial Measure (EJM) is a referral from either the Peterborough Police Services (PPS), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), or First Nations Police Services. Instead of pressing charges, a police officer may offer a young person, aged 12-17, an opportunity to participate in the EJM Program at JHS of the Kawarthas. Youth Court Support
September 17, 2025 - JHS of the Kawarthas has a Youth Court Support Worker who will help youth and their families navigate the court process. We work with youth ages 12-17 who have been charged with a criminal offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (2002). Youth may be directed to a Youth Court Support Worker by the courts, community partners, or a self-referral to the John Howard Society of the Kawarthas. School Suspension (LTSEP)

Attendance Centre
September 17, 2025 - The Attendance Centre provides intensive individual support and psychoeducational programming to youth involved in an active Youth Probation Order. Probation refers the youth to JHS of the Kawarthas for programs that target reducing recidivism. Probation, caregivers, and youth collaborate to ensure the contributing factors of their behaviours are addressed. The delivery of this service is client centered and trauma informed. Maple Keys – Section 23 Classroom
September 17, 2025 - The Maple Keys classroom provides a unique alternative learning environment for youth who have been suspended or expelled, are on probation, have current involvement with the Criminal Justice System, or who are otherwise high-risk to themselves and others.
