The John Howard Society of Durham Region (JHSD), a non-profit charitable organization committed to fostering safer, healthier communities. We provide evidence-based, evidence-informed, and outcomes-focused services designed to support individuals and families

Our programs span a wide range of prevention and intervention services, organized around three key pillars of support. Guided by our vision, mission, and core values, we believe that addressing the root causes of crime through community-driven programs helps strengthen our community and promote lasting community safety and well-being for all.

Most of our services are free thanks to government and community sponsors.
