This course will take users through various introductory components of helping individuals with criminal records find meaningful employment. It will provide an introduction on the justice system and justice system involvement, explain the different types of criminal records, different types of charges, what they can mean, and how they can appear on a criminal record check.
Supporting Employment Outcomes for Justice-Involved Job Seekers with Acute Re-Entry Needs
This advanced course equips employment service staff working with people who have recent or ongoing justice involvement. It focuses on trauma‑informed, client‑centered strategies to address re‑entry challenges, bail, probation and parole conditions, and supporting job seekers with more severe or stigmatizing charges. This course emphasizes building trust, prioritizing needs, and supporting long‑term job retention through reintegration.
