Community Employment Resource Centre

The Community Employment Resource Centre, through the Employment Service program, assists individuals to access training, and prepare for, find and maintain employment, as well as providing assistance to employers to find and hire qualified employees. The Resource room offers a welcoming environment for individuals providing information, resources and 11 computers available for public use.
Services provided:
• The Employment Service offers a range of services, tailored to meet individual needs, including: Information and Resource Services, employment planning and preparation, and job search and placement support.Services for Job Seekers:
• Individual employment counselling
• Access to subsidized placement
• Career interest assessments
• Interview preparation and job search support
• Résumé development
• Workshops
• Job Fairs
• Summer jobs for students (April to end of August).
Available resources include:
• Job postings
• State of the art computers with high speed Internet access
• Fax machines and printers
• Telephones
• Business directories, newspapers and journals
• Training opportunities and labour market information
• Apprenticeship, education and career information
• Information on a wide variety of community resources.
Employer services:
• Pre-screening and referring candidates for hire
• Posting job openings
• Providing training subsidies for eligible new hires
• Hosting Hiring and Job Fairs
• Subsidies for hiring summer students.
