Job Description:

The John Howard Society of Peel-Halton-Dufferin (JHSPHD) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing effective responses and vital services that empower individuals, foster wellbeing, and address the root causes of crime. We deliver a broad range of intervention and prevention services focusing on individuals who are at risk of or involved with the criminal justice system. JHSPHD works in collaboration with community coalitions, advocacy groups, government bodies, and criminal justice stakeholders. People who access our services often face significant barriers to the Social Determinants of Health and face stigma due to their involvement in the criminal justice system.

JHSPHD is seeking adults who live and/or work in the regions of Peel, Halton, or Dufferin who have a passion for building safe, healthy, and inclusive communities. The Board of Directors provides governance and oversight in accordance with the Ontario Not for Profit Corporations Act, By-Laws, policies of the Board, and any other relevant laws and regulations. As a Member of the Board of JHSPHD, each Director acts in the best interest of agency stakeholders.
