Course Description

This advanced course builds on foundational knowledge of employment barriers for individuals with criminal records. It is specifically designed for employment service staff working in probation and parole settings or with clients who have recent or ongoing justice involvement. Participants will learn trauma-informed, client-centered strategies to support job seekers navigating acute re-entry challenges, bail, probation and parole requirements, and heightened stigma for recent justice involvement. The course will emphasize building trust, advocating for client opportunities in light of more high-profile or severe charges, and supporting reintegration through promoting long-term job retention.
