Victim Awareness Service

This service consists of an initial assessment with each person referred to the service. This is followed by a group session and a follow up contact one month after the group session. The service is aimed at fostering greater understanding of what the victims of crime experience. The group session will assist the youth by challenging their thinking and assist them in re-evaluating their relationships with others, especially with the victims themselves. This service offers the participants alternative thinking and encourages in them a personal responsibility for their actions. Funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
