Restorative Justice & Conflict Resolution
June 21, 2025 -The Youth Restorative Justice & Conflict Resolution program, also known as On-Track, is currently offered at Geraldton Composite High School (Geraldton) and Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute (Thunder Bay). This program aims to resolve in-school conflicts through peer mediation, while supporting students experiencing mental health issues. It encourages youth to be accountable for their behavior while encouraging pro-social outcomes.
The On-Track Program offers support for mental health and addiction concerns, and teaches problem solving/conflict resolution skills. Youth attending the high schools are trained as Peer Mediators and assist in finding a resolution to problems and conflicts that arise between students. The coordinator of this program helps students develop their skills as mediators, and forges partnerships in the community to ensure youth have access to support services.
