Record Suspension / Pardon

Since having a criminal record negatively impacts people’s ability to find employment, all those who are eligible for a record suspension/pardon are encouraged to apply. JHS has been assisting with the completion of these applications for the past 10 years and continues to do so. JHS staff work on site to streamline the record suspension/pardon process and to ensure that all of the conditions are met before the application is submitted. In addition, this one on one service is provided in an effort to prevent the client from accessing this type of assistance from commercial enterprises that charge much higher and more prohibitive fees. Funding for the program is provided by the United Way of Sudbury and Nipissing Districts, through Bingo fundraisers and financial donations from individuals, community businesses and private foundations.
