PAL Program
June 21, 2025 -The Peer Assisted Learning (PAL)Program provides peer support to participants of the Direct Accountability Program (DAP). The PAL Program involves completing up to 6, 1.5-hour individual sessions with a Peer Support Worker. During these sessions, participants may: share their own personal experiences, and when it may be helpful, hear the personal experiences, recovery, and self-care experiences of their Peer Support Worker; explore available options to help make decisions, define their recovery goals, and develop harm reduction plans; identify ways in which they can feel more connected to community supports; receive crisis support and culturally appropriate referrals to services correlating to mental health, substance use, and homelessness issues; and receive accompaniment to various appointments such as court appearances and counselling.
