THE ROLE OF THE CENTRE AT THE JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY OF ONTARIO

The Centre has three distinct but complementary functions:

1. to engage in research and policy initiatives on social and criminal justice issues,
2. to provide program and direct service direction, support and evaluation to the province’s 19 local offices and;
3. to provide public education and engage in discussion regarding our criminal justice system, the issues and how to make it more effective, just and humane.
