“I have been giving to the John Howard Society for the past 23 years. I think people get caught in the criminal justice system for many reasons, it is not always straight forward, but I feel strongly that they need to be given the support and opportunity to change their circumstances. The John Howard Society provides necessary services so people can improve their lives.”
I want to donate to the Centre of Research, Policy & Program Development
I want to donate to client programs and services in my community
Why Should I Donate?
When you support the John Howard Society of Ontario and its local offices, you are helping people make positive changes in their lives through programming and evidence-based research and policy recommendations.
Within the past year alone, our local offices have assisted over 112,000 people in Ontario by helping find housing, providing employment supports, counseling for addictions and many other services.
The work conducted by the Centre of Research, Policy and Program Development ensures that the programs offered by our local offices effectively address the challenges facing the people who seek our help.
The John Howard Society is uniquely positioned to have meaningful impacts on both our clients’ lives through the services offered by local offices, and on broader social justice issues in Ontario through sound research, policy recommendations and public education.
Your support is not only greatly appreciated, it is essential to the continuation of our work. Together we can improve the lives of thousands of people in Ontario and contribute to a safer and healthier society for everyone.
Thank you for your generosity and for your interest in our work.
“JHSO’s Centre of Research, Policy & Program Development continues the organization’s long-standing pursuit of addressing the needs of children, youth and families involved in the criminal justice system in Ontario. The research conducted at the Centre is invaluable because it is focused on pressing and current issues relating to crime and the system, and ultimately contributes to evidence-based policy, practice and public education.”
– Dr. Voula Marinos, REB Chair
“The John Howard Society showed faith in me which, for a guy getting out, really went a long way. Now that I have gotten back on my feet, I am happy to give what I can to make sure others get another chance too.”
