Sidestepping the Power Struggle

New workshops being planned for 2023 – stay tuned for dates!

This 8-week program is a great way to grasp an understanding of why children act the way that they do, but at the same time, provide tools to approach your children and their temperaments in difficult situations. We aim to abandon outdated and simplistic parenting styles and replace them with responsive needs-based approaches that promote both cooperation and mutual-respect.

We address common challenges and sources of power struggles between adults and children & youth.

Who should take this course?

We encourage parents (single, double, multiple…), grand-parents, extended family, foster parents, caregivers, social workers, counselors, teachers, ECEs, CYC workers, youth justice workers, youth housing providers, group home staff, and any other individuals in caring relationships with children & youth.

Something to think about…

If you and your partner can’t agree on parenting, we encourage you both to take this course. Get on the same page! If you don’t think a course is for you, then we encourage you to find common ground together another way. It’s damaging to kids when parents and caregivers disagree on basic principles or undermine each other (whether you’re all under the same roof or not).
