Halton Youth Attendance Centre Program

A provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, this program helps young people work towards taking responsibility for their actions and building a positive future for themselves.

This full system approach can involve multiple people involved in the youth’s care, such as their family, school officials and others. Each of our clients also work one-on-one with a counsellor, who conducts an initial assessment and then creates a unique program tailored to their specific needs. This could be a focus on anger management, life skills, peer relationships or employment readiness.

The intensity of each program is also based on the client’s level of experience and involvement with the criminal justice system. Each youth becomes ingrained in our community and develops a support system while transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
