Bail Verification and Supervision Program
The bail verification and supervision program is responsible for expediting bail and court proceedings; reducing failures to appear through supervision of clients; and assisting clients to initiate steps to remedy issues and problems that may have contributed to the alleged misconduct.
Eligibility: Contact the John Howard Society Bail Verification supervisor at the Ottawa Court House assessment and referral, or instruct your lawyer to visit the JHS court office at Ottawa Court House.

Mental Health Court Support Services
The Mental Health Court Supports Services provide support to individuals with significant mental health challenges who are facing charges before this specialized court. These individuals may be living in the community or remanded in to custody during their Mental Health Court involvement.

Direct Accountability Program
The JHS in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Ottawa Court House provides alcohol and drug misuse/addiction and anger management programming for post-charge, low-risk, first-time offenders, to address the underlying issues that contributed to their offending behaviour.

Ottawa-Carleton Reintegration Services
The JHS, in partnership with the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre, provides a Custody Outreach Support Worker to provide reintegration supports to the OCDC remand population and recent releases. The support worker is also available at the Ottawa Mental Health Court for ongoing support for Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre clients who are currently involved in court proceedings.
